Our story begins
Papamoa Food Hub started in 2024 following the closure of Papamoa Anglican Family Services. Papamoa Food Hub Charitable Trust was established by a team of volunteers passionate about ending food poverty for the people of Papamoa, supplying food and care parcels for those who need a little extra help from time to time.
All people from Papamoa are welcome, as long as we have supplies we will provide food and other household items to Papamoa people in need.

Embracing community care
Our hub offers a sincere and non-judgemental service, reinforcing Papamoa’s charitable trust values while providing essential support. Supported by Western Bay of Plenty Neighbourhood Support, local businesses and local Emergency Services who donated all items collected at the Emergency Services Christmas food drive.
Food parcels are designed as a short term supplementary option and are not intended as a long term solution. We will make up the food parcel to supply the household with a minimum of 4 days food supply and other household items and deliver it to the applicant.
Papamoa Food Hub cooperates with other local services and can make recommendations for support from other services ie. budgeting services.
Reducing food waste
Redistributing edible food to Papamoa’s community, we turn surplus into sustenance, fulfilling our charitable trust mission locally.
Future initiatives
Looking ahead, we aim to enhance community welfare with cooking classes and provide cooked meals.
Local heroes unite
Volunteers are the heart of Papamoa Food Hub, embodying the spirit of charity, kindness, and community togetherness. We could not operate without our volunteers.

Nurturing Papamoa spirit
Through the generosity of the community during the annual Emergency Services food drive every parcel delivered symbolises the unity and care for our neighbours.
This is very much a charity run by the people of Pamaoa, for the people of Papamoa.

Building lasting connections
The Papamoa Food Hub thrives on genuine connections, aiming to make a real difference in people’s lives daily.
Supported by local businesses working together to ensure no one needs to go hungry in Papamoa.

Empowering through manakitanga and kaitiakitanga in our service approach
Our approach is to provide a non judgemental service, demonstrating the values of Manakitanga (Kindness and Love Without Condition) and Kaitiakitanga (together taking care of our resources), reducing food waste though redistributing food that is good to eat but no longer able to be sold.
